This hand-knotted Persian rug, approximately 50–70 years old, combines wool on cotton with a clearly readable all-over floral composition.
Floral motifs repeat across the field without a dominant central device, creating a continuous all-over decorative rhythm.
Visually, this rug presents softened red with warm neutral accents with a heavily softened, low-contrast pattern. Tonal variation across the field and border is part of the aged surface and helps distinguish the piece from a modern reproduction.
The actual dimensions are approximately 262 x 386 cm, corresponding to the marketed 9x13 format. This format works well in collected interiors where the rug can define a zone without overwhelming the surrounding floor area. The cotton foundation and hand-knotted wool pile work together to give the piece both structural integrity and the subdued character expected from an older Persian rug.
Minor irregularities in line, color and alignment are natural to an older hand-knotted textile and contribute to the individuality of the piece. The surviving motif structure and naturally softened pile give the rug enough presence to work as a focal piece while still supporting a layered interior.
Professionally washed and in excellent condition, this one-of-a-kind vintage Persian rug is ready to use.
