At 6'3" x 9'7" (190 x 293 cm), it fits under the front legs of a sofa and two chairs in a smaller living room, or beneath a queen bed with its 9'7" side running across the bed, leaving about 27 inches visible on each side. In a room of roughly 9x12 to 10x13 feet, it covers most of the floor and leaves a narrow strip of flooring around it. The dark border gives the rug a clear outline on light wood, tile, or stone floors.

Handmade in Turkey approximately 30–70 years ago, with a wool pile on a cotton foundation. At approximately 0.20" (5 mm) thick, it has a relatively low profile.

The rug has a low pile, with fading strongest across the central field. The border keeps more of its original contrast, and the medallion and flower outlines are still easy to follow. The photos show this exact rug, including close views of the corners and edges.

Vacuum regularly using suction only, without a beater bar. Rotate the rug every few months so it wears and fades evenly. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing. For deeper cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner experienced with handmade wool rugs.
