This one-of-a-kind red Moroccan rug is made for large rooms that need one strong color to hold them together. Rows of red and pink diamond shapes run across a cream ground, so the look stays contemporary and you can place furniture anywhere on it without working around a center medallion.

Lay it under a full sofa group in the living room, or under a dining table for six to eight with the chairs still on the rug. In a primary bedroom it fits beneath a king bed with the pattern showing on both sides. The red and cream work well with light wood and neutral upholstery, and the soft pink and mint accents keep the red from feeling heavy.

There is only one of this rug. It was made by hand, so the lines of the pattern and the shades of red shift slightly across the surface. Once it sells, the next red Moroccan rug we list will have a different pattern and size.

The rug was made 10–20 years ago with a hand-worked wool pile on a cotton foundation. The 12 mm (about ½ inch) pile feels soft underfoot and softens sound in rooms with hard floors, yet it is low enough for dining chairs to slide over.
