Traditional hand-knotting in wool on cotton defines this approximately 50–70-year-old Persian rug, together with its medallion design. Its medallion composition gives the piece a distinct identity within the wider Persian rug tradition.
A central medallion provides the main visual anchor, with the border establishing a clear edge around the decorative field.
In the main image, soft beige and muted earth tones create a quiet palette around a heavily softened, low-contrast pattern. Differences in tone and pattern definition remain visible across the field and border, giving the piece a more organic vintage appearance.
At approximately 254 x 350 cm, this 8x11 Persian rug can sit beneath the front legs of a seating group, define a bedroom zone or add pattern beneath a dining arrangement, depending on the room scale. The wool pile is built over a cotton foundation, combining traditional construction with a softened surface that reads naturally in both classic and modern rooms.
Slight variation in line and color is consistent with traditional hand-knotting and reinforces the one-of-a-kind character of the rug. The surviving motif structure and naturally softened pile give the rug enough presence to work as a focal piece while still supporting a layered interior.
Professionally washed and in excellent condition, this one-of-a-kind vintage Persian rug is ready to use.
