Created as a new rug from reclaimed Chaput yarns, this handwoven piece uses a softened, naturally varied palette with beige tones helping organize the overall composition. The result is a contemporary recycled rug with visible texture, natural variation and the kind of irregularity that gives handmade weaving its character. Geometric forms repeat across the full field in an all-over arrangement, creating movement from one end of the rug to the other. The pattern remains structured, but the varied recycled yarns soften the lines and give each section its own texture and tonal character.

Rather than using only newly spun yarn, this piece is created from fibers recovered from dismantled Chaput kilims. The yarns are reused and handwoven into a new composition, making the rug both materially resourceful and visually unique. Wool, cotton, goat hair, hemp and other textile fibers can all appear within the reclaimed material. Instead of hiding those differences, the handweaving uses them as part of the design, producing subtle changes in texture, density and color across the rug.

The combination of contemporary pattern and reclaimed material gives the rug a relaxed, collected look. It is particularly effective in spaces that need texture and personality rather than a perfectly uniform machine-made surface. Small variations in color, line and texture are natural to both the reclaimed materials and the handwoven process, and they are part of what makes the rug visually individual.

The result is a genuinely individual recycled rug whose character comes from both the handwoven process and the previous life of its materials. For interiors that value craftsmanship and thoughtful reuse, it offers a distinctive alternative to a newly manufactured rug.
