This handmade Turkish vintage rug was hand-knotted about 40–50 years ago, combining wool on cotton with a distinctly medallion decorative structure.
The rug has been professionally washed and carefully sheared to a lower pile, softening the original colors while preserving the underlying pattern. A central medallion organizes the field, giving the composition a clear focal point without losing the irregularity of hand work.
In the main image, the palette reads as warm beige with ochre undertones, with a gently faded but readable pattern. The border remains visually connected to the field rather than appearing newly restored, which helps retain the rug’s aged character.
At approximately 222 x 313 cm, the 7x10 format works well as an area rug in a living room, bedroom or dining space where some surrounding floor can remain visible. Its subdued surface pairs easily with wood, linen, leather and other natural materials.
Age-related tonal variation and hand-made irregularity distinguish this piece from a reproduction. It has been professionally washed and prepared for use. The wool-on-cotton structure provides a durable foundation beneath the softened vintage pile. The combination of faded color, visible knot-built drawing and a quiet border gives the rug enough character to stand alone without overwhelming a room.
Professionally washed and in excellent condition, this one-of-a-kind vintage Turkish rug is ready to use.
