The rug measures 6'9" x 9'7" (205 x 293 cm).

Living room: along the long side it takes a sofa up to about 9'6" with the front legs on the rug. For all four legs on, with a side table at each end, keep the sofa to about 5'11".

Bedroom: laid crosswise under the lower part of a queen bed, about 28 inches of rug shows on each side of a standard 60-inch mattress. A wider bed frame leaves less rug showing.

It is too narrow for a dining table. Chairs need about 24 inches of rug beyond each table edge to stay on the rug when pulled out, which leaves room for a table only 33 inches wide, narrower than a standard dining table.

The pattern has no center that needs to stay visible, so a coffee table or the foot of a bed can sit over the middle without covering a focal point. The border is the part worth keeping clear.

Handmade in Turkey, in the Uşak region the Oushak name comes from. The rug is hand-knotted with the Turkish double knot, wool pile on a cotton warp and weft, and the pattern reads clearly from the back as well as the front.

Total thickness is 8 mm (0.31"). The rug weighs about 33 lb (15 kg). It has cream fringe at both ends and bound side edges.
