This beige vintage Anatolian rug combines an Oriental medallion layout with the subtle irregularity of authentic hand-knotted village weaving. Made approximately 40–50 years ago in rural Anatolia, this is an original hand-knotted carpet rather than a modern reproduction. Its wool-and-cotton construction and traditional double-knot structure preserve the tactile character, strength and slight asymmetry of authentic village weaving.
An oriental medallion layout remains the main decorative feature, while the surrounding field and border retain the natural irregularity of hand-knotting.
At approximately 180 x 246 cm, its medium-to-large scale can anchor a living room seating group, bedroom or dining area; placing at least the front furniture legs on the rug helps connect the arrangement. The rug can act as a focal point in a quiet interior or as a textural foundation in a more collected room. Simple furniture and natural finishes give the hand-knotted pattern enough visual space to stand out. Small variations in line, border alignment and motif scale are part of its authenticity and help distinguish it from a newly manufactured rug. The result is a one-of-a-kind floor textile with enough decorative presence for both traditional rooms and more restrained contemporary interiors.
This rug has been professionally washed, is in excellent condition, and is ready to use.
