6x7 Hand-Knotted Anatolian Rug - 49916

A central medallion gives this beige vintage Anatolian rug its main visual anchor within the irregular character of village hand-knotting. Woven approximately 40–50 years ago by local village weavers in Anatolia, the rug belongs to a tradition of carpets made for real household use. The wool surface, cotton foundation and hand-built pattern reflect a practical form of craftsmanship in which no two pieces were exactly alike.

A central medallion remains the main decorative feature, while the surrounding field and border retain the natural irregularity of hand-knotting. Visually, the rug has a softly muted, mid-toned appearance with low-contrast pattern definition, giving the aged surface natural depth while preserving the clarity of the original design.

At approximately 174 x 220 cm, its versatile proportions suit bedrooms, compact living rooms, reading areas and smaller dining spaces, especially when some surrounding flooring is left visible.
