Handwoven in Turkey from reclaimed Chaput fibers, this recycled rug is defined by a softened, naturally varied palette with multicolor tones helping organize the overall composition. The changing yarns create a richly textured surface and give the design a one-of-a-kind contemporary identity. The composition has a clean contemporary character, allowing color, texture and the irregularity of the reclaimed yarns to define the surface. The result feels modern without losing the warmth and individuality of handweaving.

The starting point for this rug is a group of Chaput kilims that are taken apart so their yarns can be reused. The recovered fibers are selected, combined and handwoven again, transforming existing material into a new contemporary floor textile. Because the reclaimed yarns come from different Chaput pieces, the material blend can include wool, cotton, goat hair, hemp and other textile fibers. This mixed-fiber construction is part of the rug’s identity: each material reacts differently to light and touch, creating a surface with natural variation and depth.

Its recycled construction makes it easy to style in modern and contemporary rooms, but the handmade texture also works beautifully with rustic wood, linen, leather and other natural materials. The rug can be used as a strong focal point or as a textured foundation beneath simpler furniture. Small variations in color, line and texture are natural to both the reclaimed materials and the handwoven process, and they are part of what makes the rug visually individual.

The result is a genuinely individual recycled rug whose character comes from both the handwoven process and the previous life of its materials. For interiors that value craftsmanship and thoughtful reuse, it offers a distinctive alternative to a newly manufactured rug.
