Traditional hand-knotting in wool on cotton defines this approximately 50–70-year-old Persian rug, together with its medallion design. Its medallion structure provides the main pattern signal while natural irregularity preserves the individuality of the weave.
A clearly defined medallion anchors the center, while the border helps contain and balance the surrounding motifs.
Beige and muted natural tones dominate the image, giving the surviving Persian pattern a subdued, low-contrast appearance. The relationship between motifs and background has softened with age, producing a more subdued and naturally timeworn surface.
The actual dimensions are approximately 185 x 300 cm, corresponding to the marketed 6x10 format. The rug’s scale allows it to anchor a seating or dining arrangement while still leaving enough of the design visible around the furniture. A hand-knotted wool surface over cotton gives the rug dependable structure without sacrificing the irregularity and tonal softness of an older textile.
The piece stands apart through its specific balance of aged color, hand-knotted texture and surviving decorative structure.
Professionally washed and in excellent condition, this one-of-a-kind vintage Persian rug is ready to use.
