Woven approximately 40–50 years ago by local village weavers in Anatolia, the rug belongs to a tradition of carpets made for real household use. The wool surface, cotton foundation and hand-built pattern reflect a practical form of craftsmanship in which no two pieces were exactly alike.

Geometric motifs remain the main decorative feature, while the surrounding field and border retain the natural irregularity of hand-knotting.
