Woven by hand in wool on a cotton foundation, this 50–70-year-old Persian rug is organized around a medallion design. The rug is organized around a medallion design, giving its field and border a clearly readable decorative structure.
A medallion-centered layout directs attention toward the middle of the rug, while the border gives the overall design a formal frame.
Visually, the rug combines soft beige and earthy neutrals with a quiet pattern and very low contrast. The field and border show uneven tonal depth that is characteristic of an older surface rather than a uniformly colored new rug.
At approximately 137 x 190 cm, this 4x6 Persian rug can sit beneath the front legs of a seating group, define a bedroom zone or add pattern beneath a dining arrangement, depending on the room scale. The wool pile is built over a cotton foundation, combining traditional construction with a softened surface that reads naturally in both classic and modern rooms.
Minor irregularities in line, color and alignment are natural to an older hand-knotted textile and contribute to the individuality of the piece. The surviving motif structure and naturally softened pile give the rug enough presence to work as a focal piece while still supporting a layered interior.
Professionally washed and in excellent condition, this one-of-a-kind vintage Persian rug is ready to use.
