The rug has been professionally washed and carefully sheared to a lower pile, softening the original colors while preserving the underlying pattern. The field is organized as an all-over composition rather than around a single central device, keeping the pattern visually continuous.

Visually, the rug presents red with muted rust accents and a heavily softened, low-contrast pattern. The softened transition between field and border gives the piece a calm, naturally aged appearance rather than a sharply new finish.
