Created as a new rug from reclaimed Chaput yarns, this handwoven piece uses a balanced mix of reclaimed tones with multicolor tones helping organize the overall composition. The result is a contemporary recycled rug with visible texture, natural variation and the kind of irregularity that gives handmade weaving its character. The design is built around geometric sections and angular woven forms, giving the surface a clear contemporary rhythm. Because the recycled yarns differ slightly in thickness, tone and fiber content, the geometry feels hand-drawn and tactile rather than perfectly mechanical.

Its construction begins with Chaput kilims that are carefully dismantled to reclaim their yarns. The recovered material is then reorganized and woven by hand into a new rug, preserving useful fibers while creating an entirely different contemporary design. The recovered yarns include a practical mix of wool, cotton, goat hair, hemp and assorted textile fibers. Their differences in thickness and texture are intentionally retained, giving the weave a tactile, layered character that cannot be reproduced by a perfectly uniform industrial yarn.
