Handwoven in Turkey from reclaimed Chaput fibers, this recycled rug is defined by a softened, naturally varied palette with multicolor tones helping organize the overall composition. The changing yarns create a richly textured surface and give the design a one-of-a-kind contemporary identity. The composition has a clean contemporary character, allowing color, texture and the irregularity of the reclaimed yarns to define the surface. The result feels modern without losing the warmth and individuality of handweaving.

Rather than using only newly spun yarn, this piece is created from fibers recovered from dismantled Chaput kilims. The yarns are reused and handwoven into a new composition, making the rug both materially resourceful and visually unique. The recovered yarns include a practical mix of wool, cotton, goat hair, hemp and assorted textile fibers. Their differences in thickness and texture are intentionally retained, giving the weave a tactile, layered character that cannot be reproduced by a perfectly uniform industrial yarn.

The combination of contemporary pattern and reclaimed material gives the rug a relaxed, collected look. It is particularly effective in spaces that need texture and personality rather than a perfectly uniform machine-made surface. Small variations in color, line and texture are natural to both the reclaimed materials and the handwoven process, and they are part of what makes the rug visually individual.

By giving existing Chaput yarns a second use, the rug combines traditional handweaving with a contemporary approach to material reuse. Its irregularities are part of the design and help make each piece unique rather than standardized.
