What is a Moldov Rose Kilim Rug?

Moldov Rose Kilims Rugs have been woven in many regions such as Moldova, Karabagh, Erzurum and many cities throughout Anatolia. Moldov Kilims are also known as Rose Kilims or Karabagh Kilims.

Designs of Moldovan Rose Kilims are inspired by nature. Commonly they have a black field and the field is embellished with red roses. They are handmade and the wool used in the making of them are dyed with fully natural dyes. They were mostly woven 30 - 40 years ago and they have been used as wall hangings. Due to their way of usage they are in great shape in our present day. They functioned both as a piece of decor and isolation keeping the cold air coming from the wall behind it. They are in harmony with classic as well as eclectic-modern homes. These kilims with roses on a dark field can be used two sided. Another important characteristic of Moldovan Kilims is they get more vibrant as they are washed throughout the years of their life span.

Moldovan Kilims are works of art made by techniques that are developed throughout generations and with the transfer of knowledge from one generation to the next. They are unique pieces of home decor made by all natural wool and dyes.

They are commonly preferred alongside country style homes and in homes built with wooden materials. Moldovan Kilims are in perfect harmony with this style. Aside from wood, they work wonders in areas where the designer is trying to target attention to as they stand out with their large rose motifs. As mentioned earlier they have been widely used as wall hangings in areas they were made. Today they are used both as wall hangings and floor textiles. They help create a stylish vibe in your spaces and they work well in areas that get a lot of foot traffic because of their solid structure. They do not come in very large sizes, commonly they are usually along the sizes of 6 X 9 and 8 X 10. Motif proportion are well thought of on these rugs creating a beautiful overall composition. As an alternative to vintage rugs, they have become one of the most widely preferred floor textile.
